KED Interiors Honored with 3 Awards at the ASID Design Excellence Awards
What a special evening! Our team joined Illinois’s design community at The Dalcy in Chicago for the ASID Illinois Celebration of Design & Design Excellence Awards, and we’re thrilled to share that KED Interiors took home three awards. This recognition carries deep meaning for our team for several reasons.
A Thoughtful Judging Process
One reason this honor feels so significant is the thoughtfulness behind the judging. Each project was evaluated by a panel of interior designers from across the country, assessing elements such as lighting, scale, color, composition, creativity, and function and most importantly, how well the design met the client’s goals. Every submission also included an impact statement describing how the finished space enhances the lives of those who inhabit it.
To have our work validated by our peers and industry partners is both humbling and affirming.
Collaboration at the Core
We also see these awards as a reflection of our collaborative approach. While every project has a dedicated design team, the spirit of KED Interiors is one of shared vision and creative partnership. From designers and builders to craftsmen and artisans, every detail is the result of collective expertise. That being said, we need to give special recognition to Erika Maroney and Isabella Roncone for their leadership and dedication on these projects.
Clients Who Inspire Us
None of this would be possible without our incredible clients. Each of these homes is distinct, deeply personal, and shaped by the people who live in them. We are so grateful for the mutual trust and creative freedom that allow us to design with authenticity. In a world that can often feel repetitive, we’re thrilled to design on behalf clients who embrace individuality and invite us to interpret their vision.

Best Kitchen
Best Kitchen Project: Jacque & Phillipe
Why It Stood Out: This award-winning kitchen was reimagined to honor the home’s French country roots while introducing modern livability. The design defines three distinct yet connected zones—a sculptural cooking area, a light-filled breakfast space, and a comfortable seating nook. Custom millwork, detailed cabinetry, and a plaster-style hood add quiet architectural refinement, while hidden storage and a concealed television maintain function without distraction. Every element was considered for balance, proportion, and ease, creating a kitchen that feels graceful, enduring, and deeply connected to the way this family lives.
Best Bath
Best Bath Project: Composed Grace
Why It Stood Out: We transformed a dated layout into a spa-like retreat. The freestanding tub, teardrop chandelier, and wave-textured tile balance warmth with sophistication, while custom cabinetry and artful lighting elevate the ritual of daily self-care into something quietly indulgent.
Best Built-Ins
Why It Stood Out: In this project, the built-ins weren’t an afterthought. They were integral and an important feature for our clients. We designed custom cabinetry, shelving, and media elements that weave seamlessly into the architecture and speak to the client’s lifestyle. The joinery, finish quality, proportions, and integration with lighting and the room’s flow really aligned to make it more than just “storage.” These built-ins elevated the entire living area, creating functional beauty that supports daily routines while showcasing curated collections and design intent.
A Few Takeaways from the Night
Diversity in design: Kitchens, baths, built-ins; each award shows how we design for our clients aesthetic and preferences.
Client partnership matters: We don’t design in a vacuum. These wins reflect how we are attuned to our clients’ lives and goals.
Detail + purpose: The judges saw that each space was not only beautiful but purposeful and aligned with out client goals.
We are deeply grateful to ASID Illinois, to our peers for their inspiration, and above all to our clients who trust us to bring their dreams to life.
